ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Nicole Kirkland-Smith is an early childhood leader, social worker, artist, and storyteller with more than 22 years of experience working with young children and families. She holds a Master's degree in Social Work and is passionate about helping children learn, grow, and thrive. Inspired by her niece, Leona ("Nona"), Nicole created Pancakes with Nona to celebrate the joy, confidence, imagination, and wonder of childhood.
Nicole also earned an art degree from The Art Institute of Dallas. She enjoys photography, painting, charcoal drawing, and illustration, and loves combining art and storytelling to bring children's imaginations to life.
She lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with her husband, Scott. Pancakes with Nona is her first children's book and the beginning of the Adventures with Nona series.
